Privacy Policy
1. Device data and capture
Okay Money, developed by Okan Okay & Co., stores your card, spending and budgeting records on your device. Optional online features below send the data needed for those features. Receipt images and voice recognition use on-device engines; a purchase is saved only after you review and confirm it.
2. Optional online reminders
If you enable email or web push reminders, our backend receives the email address or push subscription, device identifier, reminder settings and selected item titles, due dates and payment status. Titles may contain bank or card names. Email delivery uses Resend. This is separate from local device notifications. All eligible items are the default until you change the selection; an explicit empty selection sends no item records. Native payment notifications alone do not upload these records.
3. Optional weekly league
When the live league is available, signing in sends your email to our backend and Supabase for authentication. Joining shares your nickname, avatar and score events; competition profiles and rankings are visible to participants. Card balances, transactions and receipt contents are not sent to the league. You can leave, sign out or delete your league account. Account deletion removes your league identity while anonymous competition records can remain.
4. Optional Google Drive and iCloud backup
After you connect your Google account and enable Cloud Sync, encrypted backups of your app records are uploaded to the app-data folder in your own Google Drive account. Sync may run automatically while enabled. Google processes sign-in, account and storage information. Disconnecting stops future sync; existing cloud backups require separate deletion through backup controls. On iOS, you can separately enable encrypted iCloud backups in your own Apple iCloud document storage without another sign-in. The backup format and password encryption match Drive. Apple handles the iCloud account and storage; backup contents are not sent to our servers. The password is stored only in this device’s protected Keychain, not in iCloud Keychain. Automatic backup uses the same app lifecycle schedule as Drive; iOS controls upload timing. Restoring requires your confirmation and backup password. Disabling automatic backup keeps the existing iCloud copy.
5. Store purchases
Native subscription purchase and restore flows use the platform store and RevenueCat. RevenueCat receives an app user identifier, purchase receipts and entitlement information to manage access. Okay Money does not receive the payment card details you enter into the platform store. Store and provider privacy policies also apply.
6. Ads and attribution
Meta attribution is off by default and starts only after its separate opt-in in the first-run privacy choices or Settings. AdMob initializes and requests ads only when Google UMP confirms permission; an error or unknown status blocks ads. Reopen the available Google form in Settings > Privacy options. Apple ATT remains separate. The free native app can display Google AdMob ads. Android also includes Meta App Events for advertising attribution. These SDKs can process device or advertising identifiers, app interactions and network information. Consent choices and platform permissions affect processing. An ad-free plan stops ad display; it does not delete information already held by providers.
7. Usage analytics
Analytics is off by default. Only an explicit saved opt-in enables PostHog initialization and events; no stored choice or a storage-read failure means no consent. When configured and explicitly enabled, PostHog receives feature events with limited metadata and a pseudonymous device identifier. The default endpoint is in the EU. The app filters named financial and identity fields and disables automatic page capture and session replay. It asks PostHog not to use IP-based analytics; network services can still receive the connection IP address. Disable future analytics in Settings > Anonymous Usage Analytics.
8. Controls and contact
Local records, league accounts, cloud backups and store subscriptions have separate controls; clearing local data does not delete cloud copies or cancel a subscription. Contact [email protected] for questions or data requests. Available rights depend on applicable law. Okay Money is a personal budgeting and credit card tracking app, not financial, legal or tax advice. Disabling remote reminder channels requests cleanup of potential backend reminder items from previously recorded sync attempts. Offline failures delay cleanup. Older server copies without a confirmation record on this device are not automatically verified or erased; contact us about those copies.
9. Currency conversions and automatic asset values
Okay Money requests ExchangeRate-API rates for currency conversion, supported currency or unit-denominated amounts and nominal legacy-cash references. It requests Gold API prices using only a public symbol for Bitcoin, Ethereum and precious metals. Metal and coin totals estimate the metal content, not a retail or buyback offer. Providers can receive the connection IP address and ordinary request information. Asset names, quantities, profiles, balances and notes are not sent. Raw quote caches stay on this device and are excluded from financial backups. The Automatic rates setting controls regular currency refreshes; automatic asset valuation is separate, and each holding can be switched to manual.
10. Account and Hot Deals sync
Signing in with Google, Apple or an email code uses our backend and Supabase to process your account identifier and email. Where available and enabled, Hot Deals account sync stores product identities, tracking, favorites and complete price-alert settings to synchronize your authorized devices. These public product details and alert settings are readable by our backend. Signing in does not connect Google Drive or enable email alerts. Email recipients and delivery consent remain separate. Cards, budgets, spending history and receipt images are not included in this shared sync phase. Turning off shared sync preserves local pending changes and does not delete existing server copies. Signing out stops account sync on this device and keeps local records. Local exports, Google Drive backups, account data and store subscriptions have separate controls. Contact [email protected] about account data access, export or deletion.
11. Community showcase (off by default)
Community contribution is off by default. Enable it separately in the first-run privacy choices or Settings before sending spending signals. Hot Deals shows community lists built only from anonymous totals: products watched by at least 5 different people, and stores and spending categories used by at least 5 different people. Counts are shown only as ranges such as 5+ or 10+; names, account identifiers and amounts are never shown. For this, products you track are counted on our backend, and once a day the app sends only allowlisted store and category names from this month's spending with a pseudonymous device code. Amounts, dates, notes, cards and banks stay on your device, and sensitive categories such as health, gambling and taxes are never sent. Signals are deleted after two months. Links you choose to share are checked automatically and published without your name only after review. Turn this off in Settings > Anonymous Community Contribution; this deletes this device's signals and pending shares and excludes your watchlist from the next update.
12. Community safety
We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users in community shares. You must agree to the terms before sharing. Automatic filtering and pre-publication review apply. Each share menu lets you report content or block its anonymous author; manage blocks in Settings → Blocked users. We review reports within 24 hours; content may be removed and abusive contributions rejected. Contact: [email protected]. Report reasons, optional short explanations and blocks are stored with pseudonymous identifiers solely for moderation; author identity is never published.
13. Community badges
Approved shares, violation records and anonymous tracking thresholds are also used to calculate device-private badges; badges and rankings are never published. No account link is added. Opting out or deleting your account erases this device’s points and badge history.
14. Delete account
Permanently delete your Okay Money sign-in account and its synced financial records, receipt files, tracked products, price alarms, reminders, email preferences, push devices, community posts and league identity. All app data on this device will also be cleared. Anonymous competition results and shared product data remain. Exported files and backups in your own Google Drive / iCloud must be deleted separately. Deleting your account does not cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription. Cancel it in the store to stop future charges. You can delete your account regardless of subscription status. https://okaymoney.app/delete-account
15. Automation Center
Android notification access can expose notifications from other apps. Okay Money only collects financial-looking messages from apps you select. No email account access or automatic PDF download. Collection continues while Okay Money is closed; transactions are processed when you open it. Notifications can be incomplete or delayed: they are not bank statements. Messages are processed on this device, not sent to us or to AI services. Approved transactions join your normal records and any backups you have enabled. Rules and the inbox stay on this device. Queued message text is erased after processing. Messages older than 7 days are purged the next time the queue is accessed. Queue capacity: 300 messages. Turning collection off erases queued messages, not your financial records. Automatic notification collection is Android-only. On iOS, share your statement with Okay Money or paste a message here; other apps’ notifications cannot be read.
